South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick’s Statement on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day
Jim Lee was elected Chairman of the Beaufort County Republican Party at the Beaufort County Convention held Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Columbia, SC. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick released the following statement on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day:
"75 years ago today, more than 156,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to confront evil and liberate an entire continent. D-Day was the turning point of the war in Europe and we must always remember the sacrifices of those who paid the ultimate price to save freedom and civilization. I encourage all South Carolinians to take some time today to honor the bravery that our forces and allies exhibited in northern France 75 years ago.”
General Eisenhower said it best when speaking to soldiers on the eve of the landings: "You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on the other fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world."
We thank God for the Greatest Generation and for all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on the beaches of Normandy. Their sacrifice and service saved freedom and democracy for civilization, and we will never forget.
Good morning and thank you all.
I would like to thank our County Officers and the Volunteers who worked so hard leading up to this Primary and past election.
The number of phone calls, sign waving, and endless hours of work conducted on social websites and door-to-door campaigning were a true measure of their dedication to our Party, County, State and Country.
As we move forward, toward the 2020 Election and focus on regaining our Congressional Seat and re-electing President Trump, we are going to need all of you, times ten. It is imperative that we begin to organize and make a united effort. Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians, Tea Partiers, and Independents. We are all united in so many ways. Our love of country and its unique and exciting history, our respect for the Constitution, love of Freedom of Speech and Right to Bear Arms, our generous hearts historically, the most generous country in the world. Our love of our Judeo / Christian ethic and love of God. Our belief in limited government, low taxes, property ownership, and a capitalist economy, a healthy environment to raise our children and grandchildren, a respect for the Rule of Law, and a love for Law Enforcement brothers and sisters. A deep love and support of our military men and women. Most of all, a deep love for Life! From the beginning of our country, from its very infancy, our forefathers named it first of our unalienable rights, LIFE. We united knowing that life and our unalienable rights are endowed by our Creator. The Human life in its most defenseless stage is entitled to our protection. The pre-born should be protected by our Constitution. We must focus and unite under these American ideals. We must never surrender to the socialist ideology of the modern Democrat. We have witnessed the Democrats weaponized government agencies. We have witnessed the Democrat Party falsify a document to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on their opposition. And we are witnessing the Democrat Party politicize our very security in border control. We must unite to defend our American ideals, for in truth we unite to defend each other.
There is much work to be done, committees need to be filled, letters and emails written, phone calls made and poll watchers organized. United we will succeed, so let us pledge today to grow our Party, work side-by-side to share our ideas and work toward winning our upcoming elections.
I pray that God Bless you all and God Bless America!
At what point did it become acceptable to jeopardize the safety and security of our nation simply to score political points? That’s EXACTLY what Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and their friends in the media have done in their desperate attempt to stop President Donald J. Trump from securing our borders. By refusing to build a wall, or provide adequate funds to secure our borders, they’ve made you and your family more vulnerable to drug dealers, sex traffickers, and violent criminals. If you’re as outraged as I am, then please sign our PALMETTO STATE FOR NATIONAL SECURITY. Every day we read about yet another crime against a U.S. citizen by an illegal immigrant shielded by the Democrats’ opposition to border security. Demand action now -- before it hits too close to your own home.
Thank you. Yours truly, Drew McKissick,
Chairman, South Carolina Republican Party
P.S. How can our nation truly be sovereign and safe if we don’t control who is crossing our borders? We can’t, the Democrats know this, and yet the allow it to happen. Sign the petition, contribute $10, $15, $25 or more to the South Carolina GOP, and help us elect more Republicans who care about the security of you and your family.
